What’s true? What’s false? Consult the Truth-O-Meter

My new favorite website, Politifact.com, combs political speeches, statements and TV rants to separate the truth from the chaff. Want to know how many campaign promises Obama has fulfilled, broken, or compromised on? Want to browse the “pants-on-fire” lies that ricochet around the Internet? (People “can’t go fishing any more because of Obama.”–Rush Limbaugh.) And then there are chain mails. (The new health care bill “provides free health care for illegal immigrants.” False.) You’ve probably heard that the health care reform bill is the largest tax increase in history (Republican) or the largest tax cut in history (Democrat). Both wrong. Check it out.
